Henny Penny, interrupted in the act of napping
The chooks are starting to rush the door and be pissed off they aren’t being let out to scratch and peck bugs all day. It is a perfect time of year for them to do that, and it’s useful for the land as well, but as I am charged with not just their wellbeing, but their continued residence here, I cannot let them out again.
I hate keeping them cooped up! Kit in Oregon wrote me they usually roost at dusk wherever they woke up that morning, “unless something frightens them.”
